The Haitian Ruby Project was founded on a vision that began within the classrooms of the class of 2023 ( Promotion Rubis ) from Teach Haiti in Haiti, inspired by the guidance of dedicated teachers and mentors. The early members, motivated by a deep love for their country, recognized challenges often overlooked but solvable—issues that impact daily life for Haitian families and communities.
What started as plans for simple extracurricular activities quickly evolved into a far-reaching mission. Today, the organization is dedicated to reimagining life in Haiti, working toward a community-driven system that benefits everyone. Grounded in faith and inspired by a powerful vision, The Haitian Ruby Project strives to foster unity, compassion, and meaningful change.
The name "Ruby" reflects the values at the heart of this project:
- Like rubies formed under intense heat and pressure, members of The Haitian Ruby Project embody resilience, growing stronger through every challenge they face.
